Good luck to all our student athletes at Columbia Middle School who proudly represent our school and community through out the year. Special shout out to students whose families support additional types of physical activities including performing arts, hunting, travel teams, church leagues, walking/running races, etc.
Be sure and check out activities at the Columbia Fitness Center for students, adults and families, and recreational water activities from the Grand River Conservation Association who offers free canoe/kayak experiences on some of our local rivers and lakes.
January 2016 Happy New Year!
As we begin to close out the first semester of Physical Education, I would like to take the opportunity to update everyone on the awesome success of our first two marking periods. New this year is a monthly mile run. Students have been slow to embrace this activity with enthusiasm and yet each of their mile times continues to improve. This month students actually came prepared to run with headphones, etc. and when not running, encouraged their fellow classmates to achieve a personal best. Team work and a happy community of learners at its finest.
Watch for news of a spring musical just for Junior High students. Production will be in May with auditions held in March. Details and title of the show TBA.
Our new locker rooms seem to be a perfect fit for our students. They have quickly learned their combinations and have been uber responsible about bringing activity clothes each day. To make it easier on families, remember students can wear the same clothes throughout the week and bring fresh clothes each Monday.
Parents and students - to read the PE class syllabus please select Physical Education from the menu bar at the top of this page. Explanations regarding policies for dress codes, grading, injuries, etc are included.
